Autumn's in the air...

This is my favorite time of year. I love how things start to change during this season. Everything looks different and smells different. The air feels cool and crisp! The sunsets are more stunning. Then the leaves are the best when they start to change colors. Each time it's never the same. Sometimes they are more red or more golden. When they fall it's even more amazing! The ground is covered in wonderful colors!!! I could go on and on....

Beauty in Camping!

This past weekend I went camping with my church and had so much fun! It's nice to get away from the hectic life that tends to consume me at times. I need to take a step back and just listen to the quiet. This was a good time to relax and take in all the beauty of nature. It amazes me!!! I never get tired of all the wonderful things that God has created. All the detail he puts into things is so mind boggling.

We had a time of worship and learning on our last day. It was nothing fancy, just a quiet time with God and his word. Our speaker talked about how we just need to quiet ourselves and listen for God's whisper. I think I get so wrapped up in stuff that sometimes I forget to listen for his still voice. He whispers often I'm sure and I hope to listen more.....

Amazing Creatures!!!

So a few days ago I was out taking some photos while the sun was setting. I just love the light the sun casts on everything as it's setting over the horizon. Sometimes it casts a gold tone, a pink tone or even orange. It just depends on what the climate may be that day. I never get tired of the sunsets here. Each one is unique.

While taking some shots of some wildflowers in our back yard I spotted this little hummingbird zipping around sipping nectar from the flowers. They just love these flowers. Hummingbirds amaze me in how they can fly so fast and stop on a dime. I've been outside before and had one zip right past my head or stop right in front of my face and just hover there. They are so amazing to watch.

New Hobby!!! :)

So awhile back I purchased this awesome memory bracelet from a wonderful seller on Etsy by the name of artspell. The bracelet quickly turned into one of my favorites to wear. I wondered how hard it would be to make these for myself so I gave it a try. Here is one of the first ones I made. What do you think? It kind of reminds me of a sea turtle....

Beautiful & Special

So last weekend my hubby and I had two weddings to go to. A few months before the wedding I decided to buy a new dress since I have not for some time. I was dreading the venture as looking for a dress is not always fun. But to my surprise I found something right away and to make it even better it was on sale. I also found a cute shrug to go over it. Now the hardest part was finding cute shoes to go with my outfit. So within the next few days the search was on. It did not take long and I found the perfect shoes too! Now the last step to complete my outfit was the jewelry.

Since I have found Etsy shopping for jewelry anywhere else just does not compare! I just don't find much in the stores anymore so I did not even bother. Then I thought to myself....I should just see if my sister could make something to tie everything together. So I showed her my outfit and she said she had the perfect thing in mind to go with it.

The thing that made this jewelry special was that the beads all came from different jewelry that my grammie had. Here is the awesome necklace that my sister made along with the dress and shrug I wore. It also had a matching bracelet as well. Thanks sis!!!

Magnificent Sunsets

I never get tired of watching the sunsets at home. Each one is so different. They all have their beauty about them. Even when the sky is clear they are amazing to watch. Something new always catches my eye. My favorite sunsets to watch are after a storm. The clouds are so dark and the sun peers through with golden beams of light. It's as if light has conquered! Then there are the sunset where the clouds turn these beautiful shades of pink and orange and purple! What can I say? I could never tire from watching the sun set. Here are some pics I have taken...

I love Valentine's Day! It's fun to receive gifts from the ones you love but I think I like giving gifts more to the ones I love. It does not have to be anything extravagant. I just love where we live! Every season has it's beauty up here. They are each unique. I think that fall is my favorite time of year but Winter sure can be pretty too....yes.....even though it's cold at times. I love looking out over the valley seeing the fog resting like a big fluffy blanket. And the clouds as they come up the hill are a sight to see. They dance and swirl. It's so pretty! The snow is peaceful to watch. It's so silent when it falls.

Lovely view....

I just love living in the mountains. It is so pretty and peaceful up here and it is difficult to leave sometimes to drive down into the valley. The air seems a bit more crisp and clean. Here is a picture of the valley covered by a blanket of fog as the sun is setting.
