Magnificent Sunsets

I never get tired of watching the sunsets at home. Each one is so different. They all have their beauty about them. Even when the sky is clear they are amazing to watch. Something new always catches my eye. My favorite sunsets to watch are after a storm. The clouds are so dark and the sun peers through with golden beams of light. It's as if light has conquered! Then there are the sunset where the clouds turn these beautiful shades of pink and orange and purple! What can I say? I could never tire from watching the sun set. Here are some pics I have taken...

I love Valentine's Day! It's fun to receive gifts from the ones you love but I think I like giving gifts more to the ones I love. It does not have to be anything extravagant. I just love where we live! Every season has it's beauty up here. They are each unique. I think that fall is my favorite time of year but Winter sure can be pretty too....yes.....even though it's cold at times. I love looking out over the valley seeing the fog resting like a big fluffy blanket. And the clouds as they come up the hill are a sight to see. They dance and swirl. It's so pretty! The snow is peaceful to watch. It's so silent when it falls.

Lovely view....

I just love living in the mountains. It is so pretty and peaceful up here and it is difficult to leave sometimes to drive down into the valley. The air seems a bit more crisp and clean. Here is a picture of the valley covered by a blanket of fog as the sun is setting.

Winter Wonderland

Figured I should post something since I haven't for some time. We had our first snow this month. I love it when it snows. It just makes everything even more beautiful! I love watching the snow flakes float to the ground so peacefully. They are so quiet and delicate. The big flurries are my favorite. It's so nice to sit on the couch by the fire burning in our wood stove and see the snow falling out our big window. Here are some pics....

Bird Watching!!!

I just love my home! There are so many birds out here in the morning and all throughout the day. I could just sit outside all day and watch them. I've seen so many different kinds of birds during the different seasons. The colors are amazing!!! They all have different personalities as well. The Jay's seem to intimidate all the other little birds. Here are some birds that I have seen.

Abundance of Pine Cones

So, since I live in the mountains we have many pine cones and I have been trying to think of something to do with them other than raking them up and tossing them. I think that I finally came up with a craft. What may it be you ask? Well, you will just have to wait and see. ;-)

First Blog!

This is all so new to me but I thought I would give it a try. I am just so in love with all the beauty of nature that surrounds me. I could spend endless hours outside watching the birds and looking at all the beautiful trees and flowers. I never get tired of the sunsets at home. It is so pretty where I live and sometimes it's very hard to leave home.
